The Healing House
The Healing House was designed in partnership with the Launchpad Program in Chattanooga, Tennessee, serving as a dedicated community resource for women in recovery. This facility functions as a comprehensive support center where residents can learn, grow, and rebuild within a safe and empowering environment. The first floor operates as a community hub, featuring classrooms, a gym, café, visitor center, intake and check-in area, a thrift store providing essential items for new residents, and an event center accommodating over 100 occupants. The second floor includes administrative and faculty offices to support program operations and mentorship.
With areas devoted to physical well-being, artistic expression, intellectual development, and meaningful family connection, the Healing House acts as a haven for women navigating recovery. The design incorporates gentle curves and intentional circulation to create a natural flow and sense of comfort throughout the space. Guided by trauma-informed and inclusive design principles, and aligned with LEED Gold sustainability standards, every element is thoughtfully integrated to foster safety, belonging, empowerment, and long-term growth.
